Here’s some YouTube footage from the Noise Narcs show. The clips are short, and the sound quality isn’t the best (though surprisingly good for one of those Flip videos). B-Melt’s projections look great.
We’re finally emerging from a long winter and a new batch of material is brewing. Here’s the first installment, complete with some absolutely gorgeous video work from Brian Melton(aka Fishing Engine). We hope you enjoy!
This short, by director Brian Melton(aka Fishing Engine), is absolutely stunning. Check out more of his work on his vimeo page.
Dan Bruskewicz of T.J. Kong and the Atomic Bomb dropped by back in the Fall and recorded this absolutely perfect little gem. It occurred to me recently that I had been hoarding it all to myself and that’s just plain wrong. Do yourself a favor and listen to it on repeat for a while.
Our good friends, Fishtown psych-folkies The Looks Of It just released this video collaboration with Brian Melton, aka Fishing Engine. Absolutely beautiful stuff. Grab a free copy of their debut EP here.
Here’s the sunny new song and video from The Looks of It. Their awesome six-track EP is free to download.
On repeat…
This song just stopped me in my tracks. I have a feeling it will be on every playlist I make for a while. I can’t wait to hear what the rest of this forthcoming release has in store.
Daily Doses: Coma Cinema “Her Sinking Sun” From Blue Suicide (2010)
From all the tracks I’ve heard so far, Coma Cinema (AKA South Carolina’s Mat Cothran) is slowly putting together an album that may actually top Stoned Alone, his amazing sophomore album from earlier this year.
On “Her Sinking Sun”, drunken synths collide into woozy strings as Cothran spews out a confessional that evokes Wilco’s “Misunderstood” (Minus epic outro) in it’s numbed, brutal honesty.
All of the Coma Cinema albums so far have a few songs that just break me down. Some caustically delivered line just lays my defenses low, leaving me sitting there with that song on repeat until it burns into my brain.
With tracks like “Business As Usual” and “Her Sinking Sun”, this next release may just burn out my soul.

Beautiful song and cover art.
Botany - Waterparker
I love how this song makes me feel. I am really excited to hear the rest of the EP put out by Western Vinyl. Its got just the right mix of lots of styles that I like.

What an excellent little mid-saturday-morning daydream.
Spectrals - Peppermint
This only one of many incredible tracks from this UK redhead’s retro pop album Extended Play. Louis from Leeds is gonna be a household name if he keeps churning out hits like this! If you dug that breakout Girls record from last year, or if you’re all up on the Real Estate tip, this is gonna be yr new fave.
Fella’s on tour ‘round the UK later this month and into November with Wavves and Best Coast. Be sure to get to those shows early and catch his set!
